Windows .exe Low FPS on ok system

First, the specks:
I have a 2nd Gen i7 at 2.9 Ghz, 6Gbs of ram, nividia 555m 3Gbs, and a standard HDD.
Second, the problem:
With optifine, I can't get more then 5 to 11 FPS, I love this mod pack and would love to play it at 30+ FPS (What I play 90% of games at) I am willing to get new Ram or a SSD if it will help with this, but as I have a laptop and the 3rd gen i7 processes have a new slot that is out of the question. :/ If I missed something feel free to ask.

increase ram for java, reduce ingame settings

Its up to the max of 5.75 :/ and that helped a bit, so do you think an upgrade to 12 or 16???

Try running it at a lower resolution. If you have a large screen and are running it fullscreen it can create lag.

whaa ? you cant give java everything, leave some for system stuff
you increase the ram in the launcher or ? (and try graphics:fast)

It was in the launcher so the system still has some ram, like 500-700 MB and I'm using opitfine and have tweeked stuff to the point i would rather play at a low FPS then turn more off. I you would like to keep helping could you come over to this thread:

W7 requires atleast 1GB
