Low FPS in FTB

Hello fellow feed the beast players. I'm having a problem with my feed the beast, well, not really a problem, but the FPS is. My FPS drops from 30 to 5 in an instant and I just can't play the game anymore (I even had a blue-screen at laggy point). While on my older computer, I can play it fine with a decent FPS with a few lag spikes.
I have 8 GB Ram with a intel core i7-3610QM 2.3GHz as processor, a NVIDIA Geforce GT 650m as a graphics card.
I'm running the game at max 5 GB, which looks a decent amount for me, while my old computer can only run 1GB tops without having alot of lagg. So yeah, could anyone help me? Or could it be my computer that, sucks? (I'm using the direwolf pack btw) Playing on a MP server also, but I've got the same problems in singleplayer.

Your processer is the most probable cause, with all the mods doing all these different things, pipes, EU changing ETC takes up a bit of processor speed.

The best thing you can do is turn settings down and google for general tip to improve gaming experience.

running the game at 5gb might be the problem. Sometimes, it is bad to have to much memory for the game. Maybe try making it less, I use 1 gb, but I have a crap computer anyway, so....

You could also try using optifine.

Everybody's fps drops in feed the beast. I have to play on short render distance (I usually play normal in vanilla minecraft) or else I'll lag, so it is normal to have fps drop.

Even if I've got everything on the lowest graphics possible, I still lag, which is weird. Since my other computer is 5 years old, has worse specs than this one, and is able to run it better. So could it be that my processor is broken?

Computers are just weird like that. I would advise getting a 16x16 texture pack that is not the default one. A simple texture pack . I use famillar yet different texture pack and I don't get that much lag.
