Low fps in any FTB Modpack

  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Im having some issues with ftb. It never ran right on my pc even tho my specs are over recommend. I tried reinstalling the game on hdd and ssd with no success. I tried using different launchers. I allocated 1all the way to 9 gb. I updated and even reinstalled java 64bit. I turned off the minimap ingame.
And i still get between 20-30 fps
I changed gpus during trying these fixes.
My current setup:

Ryzen 9 3900x x570 mb 16gb ram gtx 1080ti and 980 2x1tb hdd 240gb ssd

Hopefully someone can help me

Ps. Sry for my bad spelling

I was having issues, and what fixed a lot of them for me was:
  • Make sure to have latest Java version installed
  • Once Java is installed/updated, back in the FTB App click the 3 dots on a modpack
  • Go to Settings
  • Scroll down to Java Version
  • Change it to Oracle 1.8 JRE (64-bit)
Might not fix your specific issue, but it solved mine so it's probably worth a shot.

The Overwolf adware uses its own copy of OpenJDK runtime instead of the system installed Java, so updating your system JRE won't fix it. You need to make sure Minecraft is using your system Java by adjusting the profile in the Mojang launcher to point to the system Java instead of the OpenJDK JRE in the appdata folder.

You can adjust that setting in the FTBapp.

The issue is not java, it's the AMD graphics driver performing badly.
