Looking to upgrade

Hello,
Currently I am running FTB Ultimate 1.0.1 and would like to try out 1.0.2, However, I have put tons of work in my current world and would not like to lose everything every time a update comes along. Is there a way for me to keep my work yet still play the newiest updates?

um you update it doesnt destroy the world i dont think just make a backup incase

More so I get an error when I load the new mod pack. pertaining to the new add on updates.

You shouldn't have too much of a problem upgrading to 1.0.2, but keep in mind that 0.2 is quite buggy right now. I do know for a fact that ee3 isn't working properly. So you might want to hold on to this.
Also I recommend you to place any gregTech (could be another mod, can't remember) machine you have (as an item in an inventory) somewhere in the world, the item ids got changed but the block ids didn't.

And backup your save!!
