Hello,

I have played FTB Unleashed in the past with some of my friends, and now we are looking to start up again. Unleashed is a bit outdated so we are looking for a new pack. Some of the things we like about the last one and some things we would like to see are:

-We liked the way industrial craft 2 worked with the electricity and machines.

-buildcraft is a must with the pipes.

-Applied Energistics is a great endgame storage option that works well with the electricity.

-We would love to see Biomes o' Plenty or a similar mod for the much needed expansion on zones.

-We love to automate almost everything, so Factorization and Minefactory Reloaded seem to be the only mods that fit some of the missing holes in automation from other mods. (like farming wheat and fruit from trees) Any ideas?

-Railcraft is great as it helps with our love for automating. Plus the trains just look awesome.

-We don't do magic too much, but it was a nice break from all the tech-y stuff now and then.

-And lastly a way to sort it all with NEI or similar. (no one can remember all those recipes)

My question for you guys is what pack should we use? There are about 3-5 of use usually. Thank you for any input you guys have for us!

Most of those mods haven't updated to 1.10. I'd say go with Infinity, which is still a perfectly good modpack.

Alternately, Space Astronomy, which can do all the same things, but contains no magic. It's extremely co-operative friendly, because some quests require time intensive resources: IE Meteoric Iron that requires a player stand there for meteors to fall, or a bunch of people to fly around the Asteroid field looking for the one in a million rock containing Meteoric Iron.

I agree with this. Infinity is a great all around pack, and many of the mods you've mentioned haven't updated beyond that yet. If you're interested in a pack with a dozen ways to do anything, Infinity is top of the list. If you're looking for a option that will take more time and thought, Infinity Evolved: Expert Mode alters recipes to require you touch all the mods in the pack as you move forward. It's not for everyone, but some people swear by it, so it's worth a mention if your group likes challenge/grind.

That sounds absolutely terrible. Not to knock what otherwise sounds like a fun pack, but that mechanic in particular would be enough to make me switch packs. To each their own, though.

It did me. But until you actually go into space, it's totally an ignorable thing. It's a flaw with the Rocket Construction system. If you've got a bunch of people, you can all get the rewards for completing quests that give a bunch of raw ore, and then use the ore tripling from Extra Utilities to have enough to go all the way. I was in single player, and so I didn't have the amount needed, or the time to leave a 'server' running to get the ore.

The FtB people are in Alpha testing of the first non-experimental pack for 1.10.2... "Infinity: Beyond" (I'm sure there's a Pixar joke there somewhere :D ). Currently Slowpoke and WeAllPlayCast (among others) are livestreaming it on TwitchTV.

If you're into seeing how things are going with testing, why they choose the things they do and perhaps a bit of advanced warning about the release, that's the best way to go about it.

Thanks for all the help! I think we will go with FTB Infinity.
