By the time you've dug into lava in the nether carving out a new tunnel, its a little late to realize that your previous fire resist potion ran out. Having particle effects is useful, but they are so discreet that its easy to completely ignore them, and fire resist potions in the nether barely show.
I've been checking the minecraft forum's mod section to no avail. Anything from a little icon down by the health bar or a backpack that automatically feeds potions into you would be helpful.
And please, don't tell me to use a quantum suit or the machine muse's modular suit, I haven't quite reached that level of tech on my world and I wont for quite a while (unhinged).
