I'm an admin for a series of servers I have hosted for a small community in the past, and currently find myself working on a larger project for this same community, utilizing Feed The Beast Ultimate.

The idea is to create a PvE server with a (completely optional!) adventure map that ties into the spawn city, known as Aribeth.
This city serves as a central hub to help players get started before running off into the wilds, and ties all the adventure 'maps' strewn about the world together. As players complete various dungeons, certain services and buildings in the city will 'unlock', effectively upgrading the town. All of this can be completely ignored by the players, of course, leaving them to build their own communities with Towny in the wilds.

While I'm capable of finishing this project on my own, I'm more familiar with brush-based map editing found in Hammer or UnrealEd; Map design in Minecraft takes significantly longer for me to complete than it would in other formats.
I'm also concerned that if I'm the only one working on this town, it will become too uniform and boring because I only have a handful of styles for Minecraft or decaying interest.

So, I'm asking for help in completing this project. I will happily provide more information if needed.

If you're a creative builder who is interested in lending a hand, keep reading for more information.
If not, I appreciate you taking the time to read this post and wish you well.

If you've decided you'd like to contribute, I only ask two things:

1) Show me a screen-cap of your previous work, either in a PM or in this thread.
2) Read over the below information to familiarize yourself with the general idea of how the town is structured.

Don't be intimidated! You have freedom over how you design any buildings you contribute, as long as they fit the general theme of the area. (Industrial buildings don't HAVE to be made of all stone, as long as it's obvious that they're mechanical in nature)

Aribeth is split into five districts, as seen on the map here. (In addition to some of the work already done on my own)

Industrial:
Focusing on IndustrialCraft 2, Redpower, Factorization, and Buildcraft to provide players with early (but limited!) access to machines and various other convinces: like assembly lines and automatic ore refinery. These machines draw from a power station that, when overworked, will run out of power and shut down the machines until recharged by solar panels.
Players can upgrade this district by feeding in their own power from 'plugs' located outside of town.
Takes on a concrete and metal theme. Mostly automated and should be easy to tell if

Arcane:
A heavy emphasis on Thaumcraft and Equivilent Exchange are present here; This district contains a portal hub for all three dimensions, with only the Twilight Forest being accessible until players visit the other worlds by visiting them on their own terms.
In addition, the Arcane district houses a public thaumaturgy study, which provides all the materials for players pursuing studies in thaumatology, while letting them leave resources for others to utilize.
This district also holds a powerful pure node in a tower above the lake, allowing for safe magic practice without unleashing a horde of wisps upon Aribeth!
Takes on a wood and stone theme, looking much like most medieval fantasy or high-fantasy settings.

Trade:
The Trade district is powered by ChestShop and Industrial Craft's trade-o-mats, letting players purchase various goods, including some restricted items that normally would destroy the server if deployed en masse. (Chunk loaders)
This district is also home to The Exchange, allowing players to convert gems and ores into currency, as well as letting players convert credits into emeralds, and vice versa.
Players may disregard this district entirely and setup their own shops in the wilds with ChestShop and Trade-o-mats.
The Trade district houses a universal recycling plant, as well, letting players with an "all green" enderchest send their unwanted goods for sorting -- granting others free goods if they so desire.
Takes on a conventional wood and cobblestone theme, similar to villages. Store fronts are warm and welcoming and let players quickly purchase or sell what they need so they may resume their regular bussiness.

Agricultural:
The agricultural district provides basic farms for players to grow their crops with, or provide rarer crops for the general public.
Alternatively, they can take advantage of breeding pens for food, materials, or companions.
An automatic farm powered by steve's carts may be unlocked after players have met certain criteria.
Takes on a wood theme, with the more advanced farms using stone or metal.

Residential:
This district only has two purposes: To look pretty, and provide empty houses for players to sleep in if they wish to appear somewhere else other than the main spawn.
Additional secrets and story elements may be hidden in this district, so it's open-season on what goes inside housing/structures.
Present themes are homely and relaxing, anything that looks like someone lived in it.

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this, and I look forward to working with any prospective builders!
