Hello all. I thought about getting back into modded Minecraft lately. I've always liked the idea of modded Minecraft, and I've played as far back as Tekkit Classic. I've stopped though, since I could not find a pack that interested me. Are there any packs that can stay interesting even after playing for a long time? A few mods that I like are Flans and ICBM.

I also don't mind if it's not on FTB. I'll play on any other launcher

You could try FTB Infinity, or FTB Resurrection. Infinity has mods like Thermal Expansion and Tinkers' Contrust. Resurrection has gregtech, so it makes everything harder :p. (Not a fan of it.) They are both kitchen sink modpacks so you can do what you want.

Hmm not really easy to recommend something without know what your general interest area is. However for a general all round pack with a long life span I would suggest the TPPI pack. So far there is only a 1.6 pack out though(a 1.7 pack is in the making, but no ETA relese). It is very nicely balanced. It has GT configged to an "easy mode" or sorts and the other mods have been adjusted accordingly to make sure you never feel penalized for choosing one mod over the other. Many items have also been oredicted where applicable to allow cross mod use. It have pushed certain items further into the game so you don't gain them too easy and are propelled from cave dweller to fusion age in hours just from a few cross mod exploits and lucky breaks. It made me appreciate the early and midgame much more(without it ever feeling like a grind), usually it is something that is done in matter of hours in other packs.

I have personally been playing the same world very actively since october and still going strong. Though I focus a lot on building stuff, so if you are purely a "mine, craft, set up tech, done" kind of guy you probably wont get the same mileage.

For 1.7, if you want a "kitchen sink" (read, theme-less) pack, go for Infinity. A huge selection of mods, so you have plenty of freedom with how you want to play.

If you want something more focused, you could give one of the HQM (Hardcore-Questing-Mod) based packs, such as Blast Off, Regrowth, Pathfinder, etc. Most of these have different themes, so check them out individually for a theme you like, if you prefer to tech or magic, say. Good luck!
