I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if anybody knows of any mod out there (preferably one that is 1.7.10) that can produce a redstone signal based on whether there is a specified block in a specified area, where said block and area can be configured in some way (even if it requires creative/config files).

computercraft turtles may also be able to do the job but they can only detect right in front of them or you need to program it to move first.

Thank you everybody! I looked into both possibilities, Steve's Factory Manager was close, but didn't suit my purposes because it only detects adjacent blocks, as opposed to the long range detection I wanted. Then I looked into computercraft, and while I don't believe it could do it alone, I found this incredibly all powerful addon for it called OpenCCSensors that does all I wanted and more! Truth be told, I was also looking for a way to detect very specific modded entities in an area, but was so doubtful of that criteria that I didn't even both mentioning it, and this mod does it! http://www.computercraft.info/forums2/index.php?/topic/5996-mc-1710-cc-165-openccsensors/

Thanks again everybody. Now I just need to figure out how to use it...
