Ok, so I have a barrel wall set up and I have a router feeding all the items to it. I want to set up a logistics pipes network so that I can autocraft with it and connect all my chest and mod items into specific barrels. The only problem is I can't figure out how to make the logistics pipes play nice with the Routers. I want to be able to feed items back into the barrels (all holding raw items such as ingots and coal) and also to be able to take out items for autocraft.

To insert items into the barrels, set up logistics pipes to send the items to the router.
To take items out of the barrels, you do need a provider pipe connected to each barrel. IIRC any side works, since LP has special code for barrels.

I would setup a chest next to the router that the router pulls from. Then place a basic logistic pipe and and click it with a wrench to bring up its gui. In there click "default route" This will make all your items go into that chest when they are pushed into the LP system (IE a quarry or farm or w/e) Then the router will handle moving the items to the barrels like it should.

Lp has a way of being dumb and if there isnt a place to put it will hang in the pipes and sometimes just get lost in there until you break stuff. So in my experience its always good to give it space to dump into. A pressure tank as it were so the flux of items always get processed.

Then use a hopper. You can't get a single router to input from one chest and output to a wall of barrels, unless it changed in 1.5/1.6.

You can alternatively use two routers connected routers as well. One extracts from the chest (machine identifier needed; set to nearby only/adjacent only; ejector upgrade needed) and ejects to the nearby router which then inserts it to the barrels.

Hopper is way too slow. I remember dealing with this the few times I used routers and as I recall if you use the machine filter you can make it work with 2 routers side by side. But honestly it would be better to put basic logistic pips on each barrel and tell the gui what item to put in the barrel. Then you dont need a router at all..

Chute then, they got a speed boost at some point since hoppers came out.

If you put a basic logistics pipe on each barrel, then you either can't make a solid barrel wall, or you can't have provider pipes on the barrels, or you need to use chassis pipes to get the basic and provider functions in one pipe.

Cheers guys. All figured out. Here are some screen shots. I tried overloading it and it works fine, everything just bounces back into Diamond chest, then you add an extra barrel and it all goes to the desired location. Here are some screenshots http://imgur.com/a/Mvxov#0 The next thing I have to do is make an autocrafting system with the logistics pipes. Maybe Fabrictors from xycraft will work for that?

The spotlight I saw required you to place a sorting module(?) [diamond gear one] into a chassis. You set that chassis to default location and that's where all things that don't have a valid path go to.
