I'm building a track and I want to use a steam locomotive, because I power my entire base from steam and I have thousands of buckets of it. I'm stuck on how to get steam into the locomotive. According to the forum, it is possible. I have a liquid loader right above the steam locomotive, filled with steam. When I put a holidng track below it, it just shoots the locomotive away. Does anybody have any experienence with this kind of setup?

I'm using FTB Ultimate.

Better off to use the internal boiler.

You'll probably run out of steam (pun not intended) before the cart can be used in any practical mid-teir way.

I'm only travelling 200 blocks, at the other end, there is another loader. It's more of a fun thing, than a practical thing.

The liquid loader is above the track, with a liquiduct coming into the loader.[DOUBLEPOST=1375625826][/DOUBLEPOST]I tested it with water, and it worked.

Railcraft wiki said nothing about loading steam directly on it. Water yes, steam no.

Not everything said on this any forum is true,

If you want to transport steam then tank carts. :/

Would it be possible to load the steam into a tank cart, then have the locomotive extract from the tank cart?

No.

Such a feature is explicitly coded for the Tunnel Bore, which itself is useless.

If you're looking for something creative, you should look into MFFS C. ver. Offers a frame-like system. I would rate a Tplane Bore as at least 2x more bang for your power and time than a quarry.

Okay.

Thanks for the help. I realise I have a charcoal factory, and I turn the charcoal to steam. I'll just set aside some charcoal.
