List of textures will not load in the launcher

When i open the launcher, I go to the texture packs and there is nothing there. Same with the maps. I really want to know how to fix this. I haven't done anything (that I know of) to do something like this. Please help!

Are you able to download mod packs? if you can then they may be broken at the moment. Depending on what texture pack you need go to the Texture pack thread here and download and install it manually.
