I did some google searching but havent had any luck. Is there a list somewhere of the changes made by gregtech?

In the server I play on, some things have changed, while i read about other changes that gregtech makes.. but they did not change. We have hard to make solar panels, but apparently gregtech makes Modular Powersuits more expensive, but on our server they are still fairly cheap to make.

I also just read that gregtech removes cobble as something a recycler can scrap? But again on our server, we can recycle cobble.

I dont see anything on any wikis, or on the 'official' gregtech page listing changes made to recipes and items outside of gregtech, is there a way to find this info?

You need to look in detail, because many things that people commonly attribute to GregTech are not actually done by GregTech.

For example, the option to have GregTech recipes for Modular Power Suits comes from MPS itself (and it's only an option). The expensive solar recipes are a similar case: GregTech changes the basic IC2 solar panel, but for example the very expensive advanced/hybrid/ultimate panels come from a mod called Advanced Solar Panels that isn't affiliated with GregTech.

In the first post of his thread, Greg lists the changes to mods other than IC2:
"These are all changes I do to other Mods per default. And I mean ALL of them:

Buildcraft Quarry Recipe changed to contain Diamond Drill (Configurable).
Forestrys Bronze Crafting Recipe.
Universal Electricity Plates to use the GT Ways of getting Plates, what is even a Buff.

That is ALL. I change NOTHING else of other Mods per default. If another Mod decides to use GT Components, then it's the Mod causing that and not GT. If you stumble upon "Gregorium Ingot" then it's RichardG adding that Stuff, and not me."

Of course, that does not include the substantial list of changes he makes to IC2 and vanilla Minecraft. For those, finding a list of the entirety of changes is probably difficult, because GregTech is a.) huge and b.) updates very quickly. You can try asking the server admin to give you a copy of the GregTech config folder though, so you can have a look at the configs (and potentially compare the default settings in your clientside configs to the server settings).

That is VERY interesting, thanks. Any idea why one person would say the IC2 recycler had been changed by gregtech, but on our server it was not changed? The server owner said he just left all settings at Default and changed nothing.

Also, read your post on steam boiler efficiency, you are a man (?) after my own heart.

It is why I wish FTB ultimate (and others?) was nerfed a bit: no one has to worry about efficiency, when someone can just setup an MFR tree farm and have infinite power for very little cost. The upgrades to the harvester should be SUPER expensive, like the cost of an hv solar or something.

For example, a friend of mine went right for lava from the nether as his STARTING power source in our new world, and used electrical engines , energy tesseracts, and thermal generators as a way to get the power to his quarries. he drained the local lava area in the nether dry in a short time, due to all the wasted energy in that setup. But it doesnt matter, he runs 2 quarries at full speed and tons of machines, and used his early lava energy to make ultimate solar panels and just makes the lava for his system.

ideally there should be a reason people run magmatic engines vs Thermal Generators, right? I guess it is too much to hope that multiple mod authors would all work together perfectly to keep things in balance.

Then it depends on the version of GregTech he's running. As mentioned, it updates very often.

Other mods bundle thirty changes into a release once a month. Greg? He tweaks one thing on Monday. Release. Two things on Tuesday. Release. Nothing on Wednesday, one thing on Thursday. Release. That's why he goes 3.07a -> 3.07b -> 3.07c and so on, because even incrementing the sub-subversion number is too much for his typical release ;)

What recyclers can recycle is in the gregtech configs. MFR does now have "gregtech" recipes that use gregtech items if you want to enable that in MFR's config.

The default settings for more recent versions of GregTech disable several Recycler recipes.

-Through EasyMobGrinderRecycling :
Arrows, Bone, Bonemeal, Rotten Flesh, Silk, Egg.
- Through EasyStoneRecycling :
Sand, Sandstone, Glass, Glass Bottles, Glass Pane, Furnaces, Potions, Stone, Stone Bricks, Cobblestone, and most types of stairs and slabs, and some items crafted from these objects.
- Regardless of configuration settings :
Ice, Snow / Snow Blocks, and Snowballs
There is also a config option to add other blocks by block ID,

Older versions of gregtech may not include or may not include as default the recycler blacklist.
