A lot of people talk about it, slow wants it in ultimate and tech, but what is it?
Long story short, it is a science version of equivalent exchange 2 all over again, well at least for now (it is in pre-release)
The mod allows you to break down materials into their base compounds, then even further into their base elements. For example wood yields 8 cellulose which can be broken down into carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. The elements can then be recombined into different items, for instance the carbon from trees can then be turned into coal. Some compounds can even be drunk as potions (mostly poisonous). All the machines (only 2 for now) are powered through MJ providing a relativity minor cost to chemistry.
The first thing that comes to mind when you see a mod like this is balance and the amount of game breaking that came from EE2, and right know, this mod doesn't look all together in that regard. Granted it is in pre-release but still some of the low level chemicals are just ridiculous. The most basic element is carbon, the one carbon per coal, 4 stacks per diamond. This right there is kind of backwards, most mods (IC2, EE3) put the exchange rates at 64 coal per 1 diamond; but before you pass judgement, let me tell you about wood. Logs, as stated, yeild 8 cellulose, for a total of 48 carbon. Meaning that one log can make 48 coal, and a stack of wood make 7 Diamond! As stated this mod is in development and all the values are constantly changing. But still, 7 diamond.
Disregard that entire paragraph, as this mod is in pre-release (can't be said enough) and changes are sure to be made.
On a positive note this mod will be getting some cool features to come, a fully feature radiation system is in the works, as well as new ways to process chemicals. I have high hopes for this mod, don't get me wrong, but right now its just broken. I like this mod, its a very cool concept and most of the execution is spot on, but the ratios just need work.
