I found a Huge Oil deposit about 130 meters from my base. I also found a big lava lake while mining, or i could use a tesseract and get it from the nether.

I have played with both lava and fuel in other play thru's, so I know how to keep combustion engines cooled.

Just wanted to know what you think is best.

Power density wise, I'm reasonably sure that fuel is the optimum, but you have to balance that against the cost of finding and refining. Lava is, obviously, an easy start (grab from nether, put into tanks/geogen/magmatic, go), while there is both an upfront cost (diamond gear) and a power cost to fuel.

On the other hand, you can pump fuel into boiler for stupid amounts of power, if you need it, while lava requires a few more hoops to jump through to get that working.
