Details of the issue:

Just downloaded the Feed the Beast launcher and saved the launcher in a folder on my desktop (not a shortcut). When I try to launch the FTB launcher, nothing happens. No activity in my task manager, no process has been started. I currently have Java 8 Update 60 installed on my computer. Does the launcher only work with a certain version of Java?
I have tried deleting all FTB related files (including the files in the AppData folder) and re-downloading the launcher and still nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.​

Did you try starting FTB_Launcher.jar from command line with "java -jar FTB_Launcher.jar" ?

Hi jikuja,
Thanks for the reply. I just tried launching the pack from the command and I got this error message. (Attached is the picture of the error message).

If the attachment is messed up this is what the error message says
"Error occurred during initialization of VM
java/lang/NoClassDefFoundError: java/lang/Object"

I know a little about Java but this is new to me. Does the launcher require a specific version of Java?
