Edit: after a loooong time, this was added:

Loading modpack information for modpacks.xml...
From Console: [Fatal Error] :40:100: XML document structures must start and end within the same entity.
Exception reading modpack file: org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; lineNumber: 40; columnNumber: 100; XML document structures must start and end within the same entity.

This happens sometimes when I start the launcher, yet other times it will just work perfectly fine.

I am getting this same exact issue on three separate computers, it seems that something is wrong with FTB at the moment

I'm getting the exact same issue myself. I wish there was a cached list of modpacks (or at least the last used modpack) so we could launch it without having to worry about loading issues.

I successfully pinged new.creeperrepo.net and launcher.feed-the-beast.com when I tried too.

Got the solution! It's an issue with creeperrepo's DNS.

Run the .cmd file (it's easy to check it's non-malicious, don't worry) in that post, and it should update your host file for you. After I ran it, the modpacks list loaded immediately for me.
