Problem Launcher/Server Problem.. PLEASE HELP!!

Okay, so about 2 months ago when I first really started getting into Feed the Beast everything was running smooth, up in til I think it was 2 weeks ago when it all went to shit. (Pardon my language), but at first when I started getting these errors it was just "Can't reach server' to any of my friends multiplayer servers.. Now when I try to hit launch it doesn't do anything but "update" the mod pack along with it just going where I can't hit the launcher again. I am kinda mad because when this started happening it was during my break. I've tried restoring my computer back to a certain point didn't work, and I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the client so many times. Also, I am running Windows Vista.

Do you have your launcher and or installation patch set to C:/Users/Public/Documents/ ?

Could you move your laucher to a different folder? the Documents map is known to have problems.
- Remove the launcher including all subfolders (make a backup if you have a world you want to save)
- Make a folder on your C:\ Drive or on your desktop called FTB
- Redownload the launcher from the website and save it to the newly made FTB folder (save as, not run when downloading)
- Open the launcher and download your modpacks
