Launcher not working

Hey! whenever I try launching the launcher, nothing loads. It says "Please wait while mods are being loaded..." until I close the window. I've let it sit for 10+ munites before and it won't load. I have tried both .exe and .jar. I am on Windows 7. The console says this message: http://pastebin.com/AxCXZsJM Any information as to what I should do would be very helpful.

Looking through the logs it looks like your just completely unable to connect, presumably you are running the launcher whilst connected to internet right? If you are, then it might be worth checking your Windows Firewall/AV settings aren't blocking the FTB launcher.

yeah I was connected to the internet. I didn't consider letting it through my firewall though. I'll go try that and report back. thanks for the help.


EDIT: I just allowed it through my firewall and it's still giving me the same problem..

I know it's risky, so only do this as a test, but maybe try disabling your Antivirus and see if it connects then.

I just turned it off and it still isn't working. is there anywhere I can manually download/install the mods?

The only way would be the old fashioned way of downloading the mods from their respective MC Forums page and manually add them to Minecraft, perhaps using MultiMC to make life a little easier.

*sigh* alright, well that's an unnecessarily lengthy process.. I may just gave my friend share his FTB folder and ill log in with my name. Thanks for you help.
