Launcher not working. Redownloaded twice but to no avail.

Operating System, bit type: Windows 8, 64-bit
Java version/update, bit type: Version 7 Update 51
Launcher version: Version 1.3.4
Completed the troubleshooting guide (y/n): Yes

Description of the problem: After attempting to update to a new version of Direwolf20 1.6.4 pack launcher stopped downloading, then crashed. Upon Reopening the program none of the packs, textures, maps, etc. appeared. Force closed and reopened again. Deleted all FTB folders including the one in Roaming as well as Java. Reinstalled Java and restarted computer. Reinstalled FTB according to the troubleshooting guide. Now whenever I open the launcher nothing is showing except news.

I was playing fine 2 days ago. I've tried everything I can think of aside from resetting to factory (which I won't). I tried reinstalling both the launcher and java twice to see whether or not I did something wrong and followed the tsguide to the letter. Help would GREATLY be appreciated.
EDIT: Also, the options tab is basically useless to me. Can't force update anything, nor can I change location. Automatic is the only option available to me.

I just tried both options, but neither changed anything. The outcome is the same: launcher comes up with nothing showing. It says loading, but the console keeps giving me (showing minimal) this line:

I know there's nothing wrong with my connection as I'm not the only one accessing it. I've also seen this line in a few other posts and they end up being directed to the thread below. About to go post there as well.

Right. Turned it on this morning and it's back to not connecting. The only difference is that all the packs, etc. show up now. Not sure what the deal is but apparently I'm not the only one having this issue.
EDIT: Tried it anyways and it worked, but launcher says it's not connecting. I've no idea how any of this works so I don't know what's up.

You're not alone! I appear to be having the same issue as of yesterday and so does this guy and possibly this person, too. I've also tried the suggestions made by lavarthan with no success. It also may be related to the fact that the Repo Status is completely down and not loading, I'm not sure though. Anywho, I first noticed this issue soon after Eyamaz pushed out the 3 updates for Horizons, MagicWorld 2, and Monster, but again, I'm not sure if this is related.
