Windows .exe Launcher Not Connecting and Downloading Mod Packs

hey i fairly new to forums so forgive me if i have put this thread i the wrong category lol.

I recently upgraded to windows 8 pro from windows 7 Home Premium but now the feed the beast launcher does not work and i get lots of errors on the launcher console

i have tried running in compatibility mode, administrator mode and the administrator pc user.

Is this a problem with windows 8 or am i missing something here

You tried Windows 7 Compatibility mode?

There are many people who have gotten the launcher to work with Win 8, but there are still some people who are having issues.

yes it just brings me up the same console, i have also tried it on a different PC which has windows 8 pro installed and i get the same thing.

I also forgot to mention i am runing kaspersky internet security 2013 and i have added the FTB_Launcher.exe to the firewall allow list and i have also tried disabling the firewall and the whole of the antivirus and no change.
