Launcher/Modpacks won't run

If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Details of the issue:
When I hit play on the launcher, minecraft doesn't open and I get the above error message instead. I had a problem earlier of Curse not opening (It said the application was not responding.) I had just downloaded Curse yesterday and it was working fine. I reinstalled Curse and it opened only for this is to happen. Help?​

Install and use java 8.

I have Java 8, update 73. Every time I open Curse, it can't find that I have Java on my computer, but when I hit refresh in the setting, it eventually finds it. Is there a different version of Java that I should be using?

Nevermind, I just reinstalled the latest version of JDK Java and that seemed to fix it. Thanks though.
