Launcher Error when trying to download modpacks

I have a mac and when I try to download any modpack, the download doesn't start at all. I have tried re-installing Java 7, JDK 7 and the launcher. I am using the launcher.jar file.

I will paste below what the launcher console keeps telling me when I tried to download any modpack. Line 79 of the pastebin is where the errors start happening. Thanks for any help you can give.

You should be using the jre, java run-time enviroment not the jdk, java development kit. Also check here if you are going to use any of the older non 1.6.4 packs. The 1.6.4 packs already have lwjgl version 2.9.0 so do not worry about them. If it still gives you errors with the jre please post a new pastebin.com log.

I want to play on the 1.6.4 packs. I made sure I got the JRE this time and tried to download a modpack, similar if not the same result. I will paste the pastebin and the link to the site where I got the JRE to make sure we are on the same page. Thanks for your help.

It does have the same error. Hmm, what folder are you using to download the mod packs to? Check in the options tab, under 'Install folder...' Try putting it in a folder on your desktop as this guide suggests.

Edit: You've also removed all other versions of Java?

I changed the install folder to the desktop and it downloaded fine and I have already played this morning. Thanks a lot for your help lavarthan!
