It can be a bit difficult to figure out why a working password suddenly doesn't work from the FTB Launcher. Would be nice if the launcher could detect and display a warning if the minecraft log in server is offline.
as far as i know there is just one saying something like "Couldn't connect to minecraft server", but thats also the case if you dont have a internet connection...
An simple message saying it is down and maybe links to twitter of official minecraft devs or something like that would be nice...
Maybe even a notification when the servers got up again...
It says "check @ help.mojang.com" which is the site with the current status of the Minecraft login servers, among other servers. This site is often more up to date than the twitter of the devs.
Besides that, the launcher can't really tell whether the server's down or whether something's gone wrong with your internet connection. All it gets is a true or false when it tries to log in.
What about with filtered ISP's which block gaming sites, for instance at my school? The ping to google would work, but the login wouldn't, making me think that the server is down when it isn't.
I'm not saying this isn't a good idea, I just can't see a reliable method of adding it.
