so im getting very low fps on ftb and i think my pc should be able to handle it my specs are:
Intel 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz
4 GB RAM
ATI RADEON 5670
before i could run packs with no problem now its unplayable

Have you tried the jvm arguments from this thread. It was just updated.

You may want to consider adding more ram to your system.

You get low fps everywhere or some places in particular? Because I also get 60+ FPS whenever I'm somewhere untouched, but no matter what it drops to 25-30 when near my base with all the stuff going on.

no it was a fresh world i was getting 150 fps then after 1 day 30 fps and i dont have any machines yet all i did was build a small wooden house.i do have a lot of stuff on my computer maybe i should consider backing up my files and reinstalling windows.

User level troubleshooting should *never* include reinstalling the OS. You should only ever do that if you absolutely have to.

Defrag your harddrive, get rid of unneeded programs and files.
