Windows .exe Lag while running a local server

I am running a local Yogcraft FTB server whilst playing on it with one other person. I experience small lag spikes every 1-2 seconds. Is there any way to stop this lag?

Here are my specs:
i7-3770k @ 3.50GHz
8192MB RAM
Geforce GTX 670 2GB
Windows 7 x64
Fully Updated Java x32 and x64
