Hi, i have problem with FTB Direwold20. After few minutes playing, game will start lagging and it crash. I reinstalled java, Video Cards Drivers, but I still have this problem. You know what to do with it? Always, game crashed with text "Out of memory" (and i can go to Main Menu) but first time it crashed down like i installed mods badly (I do not know if you understand me). In console i had errors "Out of Memory" but when i pressed F3 in game, i have 45% using memory. In game launcher, i had set maxiumum RAM, 1 GB. Sorry for bad english :) When I downloading mod first time, I have a problem with downloading but when I restart downloading, it works. When I starting a game, i have so many warnings in console. Thanks for help :)

The warnings in console are likely of no consequence, my game has many messages that show as errors, but are just messages.

Can you please do 3 things? First, what operating system are you using? Assuming its Windows, please go to the Start Menu and open control panel. There are 2 modes to view control panel and the basic one is somewhat lacking. Switch to small or large icon mode.

Once you do that, there should be an option called System located next to "Sync Center" and/or "Taskbar and Start Menu".

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System should be displayed in the top, you can just type that into the box and it will bring you straight to it if you can't find the icon.

Once you are there please write down your Windows version, Processor, Installed Memory, and System Type and post them as a reply.

What i have to do with that Sync Center? I found it, nothing there.

CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.50GHz

RAM - 4,00GB Dual-kanál DDR2 @ 333MHz (5-5-5-15)

MB - Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. G41M-ES2H (Socket 775)

GPU - 1024MB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 (Gigabyte)

System - Windows 7 32-bit SP1

And please, use easy english, like your first post :)

You don't have to do anything with Sync Center, I don't even know what it does. It was just a reference to help locate the System tab.

However, I believe your problem is the 32 bit version of Windows 7. There is a version called 64 bit that allows 64 bit programs to run. The 32 bit version of Java is limited to around 1 gig of memory and the 64 bit version has a limit that computers won't be reaching within the next 50 years because its very high.

Your computer has 4 gigs of memory, so I would suggest installing a 64 bit OS. The 32 bit version of Windows 7 is also limited to recognizing around 3.5 gigs of memory as usable.

If you installed a 64 bit OS, not only would an extra 0.5 gigs of memory be usable, there are small performance advantages and you could give the FTB launcher 2 gigs of memory for best performance in the game.

If you don't want to reinstall your OS, there are 2 options, the first is called dual booting. For example:

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/install-ubuntu-with-windows

You could then install Java on the Ubuntu OS and play FTB there. This requires a larger amount of technical inclination, so I suggest installing Windows 8 or Windows 7. In terms of difficulty, Ubuntu is probably the most user friendly Linux operating system.

The second option is lowering graphical settings like particles and view distance, this should reduce memory usage.

Let me know if there is anything you don't understand or need help with.

When I will install Ubuntu, need I play FTB with that Ubuntu? Probably, i will play with lower graphical settings. Can´t I somehow set 2 GB on 32-bit system? Mod or something like that? I won´t install 64-bit, i have bought 32-bit. And still, in Minecraft i have used memory only 35% - 51%.

Well, if you decided to install Ubuntu, you would choose the 64 bit edition to install alongside Windows. When your computer started you would choose which operating system to use.

So you put the FTB launcher on the Ubuntu OS and play on there because its 64 bit and you could run 64 bit java on it.

Sadly no, you can't get 2 gigs of memory or more to work with 32 bit java. It is a limitation of java itself and I don't know of any way to change that.

Why your seeing that lower memory usage is because java runs garbage collection, and that happens when you get close to using all the allocated memory. It goes back down, but will climb again until garbage collection runs again. There is another garbage collector you can set java to use, see this post for that, but it requires 64 bit java and a minimum of 4 gigs of memory:

Honestly, I wish I had more options for you, but a 32 bit OS is fairly limiting for modded Minecraft.

Screw it I wanted to play on one server, I will not reinstall my system due to game. Thank´s for help. And, why tekkit can work with more than 1 GB and FTB not?

FTB can work with more than 1 gig, but not without a 64 bit version of java. The actual number is between 1 and 2 gigs, so if Tekkit is showing something like 1.5 thats the limit.

Even if Tekkit shows it can use more than that, it actually can't without the 64 bit version of java.
