Keeping something supplied with AE: how?

Well, the cases where I have the option of doing so, I don't have much surplus. I make sure to keep a certain level of redundancy, regardless though. I also reformat/defrag my drives a lot. Habit, I guess. Whenever I see 80% filled but 63/63 items, that drive goes straight into the I/O machine.
