Journeymap not working on Vanilla +

Details of the issue:
I want to put Journeymap into my vanilla + mod folder but every single time it tries to load up i get an error pertaining to the forge version not being applicable is there a workaround for this. I know there are other Minimaps but i like Journeymap in specific because it shows mobs and i like how it works.​
