Yeah, my friend and I are also having trouble connecting to my sever. Maybe an issue the the authentication severs? Seems to be intermittently working though. Hit and miss.

checked mojang support center (http://help.mojang.com/) says everything's healthy

I'm switched my server to offline status to see if this helps; It definitely helped my friend and I. I don't know the full process for authentication for Feed the Beast, but it seems to be an intermittent problem here.
