  • Tech Support section is for getting help with FTB related problems. If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Bugs for older packs will not be fixed, unless they are critical.

Title Joined LAN game, empty inventory, game won't recognise me.

Launcher Type Twitch Desktop App

Modpack FTB BEyond

Modpack version

Have you modified the pack? No

Details of the issue My game crashed while connected to a LAN game with my friend. When reconnecting I appeared with no items just the original books in my inventory. My character skin is now all black.

I tried going into the save file and player data and saw 3 files there instead of 2. One was the new empty one so I copied its name and pasted it onto my original playerdata.

I now have all my inventory back but my skin is still all black and the worst part is that I have some claimed chunks and loaded chunks. I cannot touch them as the game does not recognize my ID but my ID is the same on top of my head in the game.

I also tried deleting my playerdata file and starting fresh but again I cannot touch my claimed chunks, it doesn't recognise me and my skin is still all black.

Thanks for any help.

You or whoever has op on the server can run the /ftb commands to release those chucnks. Once released you should be able to reclaim them. As for your skin, I would do an update on minecraft's portal for changing your skin. Even if it is the same one you had before. Just re-upload it to force the clients to download a new one. The skin is really vanilla minecraft and modded for the most part doesn't mess with it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Henry, the problem is now fixed, I was going to look into doing it that way but there were more issues, I was not allowed to use my own Flux network as the game thought I was someone else even though my name on top of my head is the same it has always been.

All I did was restart the host PC with all the firewalls turned off, I then added my original player data file that I backed up when the problem first occurred and deleted the new playerdata file that was created, I then started the game and opened to LAN. Then I started my game on my PC with all the firewalls turned off as well and connected and I was back in the game with everything working properly.

That was a weird problem, if anyone else has this issue just restart everything with the firewalls off and delete the new playerdata file that was created.

On the positive when i had my inventory back but the game would not recognize me and therefore would not let me use my claimed chunks and flux points I put all my tools and weapons in a new chest. When I deleted that playerdata file and put the original file that i backed up and everything worked again I had all my tools and weapons on me, so I now have 2 of everything.
