Apolagies for a simple question but am going into the new evolved pack and was wondering to upgrade java version first. Am currently on 1.7.0.71

What is the best version for ftb modpacks ?

I would highly recommend upgrading from Java 7 to Java 8 as a lot of mods are now coded using Java 8. Version 8u65 is suggested
