I am trying to launch the New World mod pack, although I have the same error when trying to use other packs. I've tried reinstalling java but am still getting the same error. I've tried searching for a solution but can't seem to find anything...

Hmm, this problem occurs because of a conflict between 32-bit and 64-bit Java. Try reading this post on Jarfix. Not sure if it will help.
Also, are you using the launcher.exe or .jar? You should try both and then come back.
