I tried running the new direwolf pack yesterday and was getting to crash upon starting up a world. I seen in another post about updating to java7. Which that seemed to work but now im getting this jerky lag. Im not running low on fps or anything. So want to go back to java6, but im not sure what version i used to have. Whats a good version of 6 to go with?

I found this link but there is 4 downloads. Im pretty sure it needs to be one of the x86 versions. Just dont know which one or if its even what i should be going after.

First of all, Java is a huge security hole and having Java6 installed on your system is just asking for trouble. You should ALWAYS keep it up to date to avoid these holes.

Jerky lag may be caused by not uninstalling all instances of Java before installing Java7. To my knowledge, you can have both 6 and 7 installed on your system. Uninstall all versions of Java, restart computer, and then install a fresh version of Java7. If you are on 64bit make sure you get the 64bit version. Or better yet, have ninite install the correct versions for you automatically: http://ninite.com/

If you have a 32bit os you won't be able to install the 64bit java. If you try to run the 1.6 packs with 32bit java will run into memory problems. The new FTB Lite 2 pack is designed for people with 32bit systems.

No my pc is 64 bit. All i know is the game runs jerky since i updated to java 7. I uninstalled the 2 java 7 and restarted. I reinstalled java7 and it still gave me the issue. So i reinstalled java6 and the 64bit one. So i have a regular java 6/7 and a 64bit version of the 2 for a total of 4 installs of java. But my issue has been resolved.

You might as well hang a sign on your PC that says "please have your way with me". Java 6 was retired almost a year ago and is riddled with exploitable code.
