A While ago, when watching one of InTheLittleWood's Livestreams, about a year ago, i pointed him towards the old MC Forums "FTB" Page.
He Checked it out, then dismissed it entirely after saying this:
"What is this, a Rip off of Tekkit? Looks pretty crap, with random mods like... Portal gun? Wow how dumb."
He then did an FTB Livestream a week ago.
Just expressing my Anger.
Pretty pissed.

A Better response would be "Its not released yet, and i have already started Tekkit so meh.".
I Stopped watching him entirely but for a different reason. Just got bored of his content.
"Things happen, people change" as you say.

Well, in his defense it practically is. They are pretty much the same thing. Most people who use FTB like because they got mod permissions. Obviously some people do like the different mods. But I think most people use FTB because it "respects the mod devs wishes".

originally I didn't give too many fucks about that, I used FTB because it had mods that tekkit didn't and I wanted.. ( I think it was a combination of forestry and mystcraft) but having spent the last 3 months or so on these forums (and entered the top 12 posters list[woo go me]) this has become important to me also.

Funny, when Minecraft was reaching Beta, I was dismissing the game when a couple of friends and myself were trying to pick a game where we could play together.
My reason was "Meh, it's a dumb game where you break blocks, add others of an other colour, right, won't waste my time on this".
A month after that, I was begging them that they buy themselves a copy so that we can setup a small server on my computer and play when not working on our project.

If you think about it, we all have a moment like that, not necessarily based on Minecraft, but where the first impression we have about something makes us not want to even hear about it. Then, it can happen that you stumble upon a piece of information or an other, and that you revise your judgment.

Why hate on a guy that did that?
He was on a stream, but apart from that, he just changed his mind based on newer information, totally human.

Plus, a year ago, FTB was a mess, it's only with the hardcore challenge map that it started to be interesting for many of us. And even then, you needed to delete files to be able to play on a normal world, and the map didn't quite play on SMP.
I totally understand why people would not have wanted to jump on it a year ago, especially if they were already using tekkit.
