Items like a destruction catalyst...?

So lately I've been working on my 'dream base' in creative on feed the beast. I've been using the mindcrack pack for this. However, it has been really difficult trying to dig out a cave for it . When I played tekkit I always used a destruction catalyst for this, however this item is not in the pack

Aside from a mining laser, is there any item I can use to destroy blocks in a mass amount?

You could use a mining turtle, or even a quarry.

Use filler and full energy cell, it will destroy blocks in no time. Just put 4 landmarks to specify rectangle that you want to clear: one center landmark, one in the same X,Z coordinates, one in the same Y,Z coordinates etc. Then right click on the center landmark to show the border and place filler right next to it. Then put clearing pattern inside (9 glass) and energy cell besides the filler. You may consider updating BC to 3.4.0, or disabling dropping blocks by filler, to prevent lag.
