Windows .exe Issue updating launcher?

Every time I open the FTB launcher I get a popup saying

"A new launcher version is available.

Do you wish to update? Yes No"

If I hit yes, the launcher closes itself and nothing seems to happen. If I open the launcher again, the same thing happens. I realize I can probably get around this by just uninstalling and re-downloading the launcher, but any idea what the issue could be?
 
I've noticed that in the past I've had that same issue on my Windows 7 machine. Not sure if the very newest launcher does it but I've usually just re-downloaded it manually rather then trying more then like once or twice.
 
Well, this would be the first time I'm seeing an update after grabbing the launcher last Saturday, so if it's an issue that's been fixed already, I'll just deal with re-downloading.
 
Are there any special characters in the filepath of the folder your launcher is placed in?
Could you try moving your launcher folder to be placed directly on the harddrive and see if the problems persists? (as in c:\FTB\ for example)
 
Also is there UpdateTemp in your install folder? If there is, take the application from there and REPLACE the one in the install folder, and delete your last login file.

Looks like I don't have that issue with the 1.06 update.
