Bows and arrows are your friends. Then you only need an iron helmet to protect you.

And perhaps an athame for endermen, assuming you have the right pack.

This is all 1.5 btw, with and without GT. So no athame since Elo is running into issues with porting. :/

Someone hasn't played with MFR mystery nets enough, I put some uh... let's call them "fun" mob combinations in there recently though they're pretty rare.

Inlcuding
creeper on a cave spider. Yes, that can fit in 1x1x1 holes.

I REALLY enjoy your work. Once I saw the straws, I was sold.

This confirms that there IS a conspiracy amongst mod devs to mess about with the most evil, vile, disgusting thing in the game... Spiders.

Creeper Cave spider jockeys, giant he'll spiders that spawn tiny he'll spiders. Giant spiders with farmer skellies shooting spells at you. Make the madness stop!

Skeletons on slimes are not uncommon, I see them all the time.

A creeper jockey however...I have yet to see. And as much as I dread the day I will finally encounter one, I must say, a creeper on a SPIDER would be on a whole different level of scary.
I saw one just a few hours ago, they're actually more deadly than if they were riding spiders because you can't hit the creeper itself (it was the biggest-sized slime other than the boss one) until the slime is dead and those things are a pain to kill even without a creeper riding them because they jump all over the place.
Plus, when I killed the large slime the medium one nearly pushed me into the creeper that it had just dropped.

Then again, I was playing the Refugee to Regent challenge at the time so my weapon was a half-broken wooden axe xD

The reason I consider the spider+creeper combination more dangerous is because spiders are fast. With no speed-enhancing armour, you can only outrun them when sprinting. Slimes on the other hand are fairly slow, so you can just keep your distance and snipe the creeper with a bow. Then the slime itself can be easily melee'd if need be.

But yeah, I can see how the slime+creeper combo can be pretty dangerous too if you don't have access to a bow or other ranged weapon.
