Is there a way to hide your player icon from others? Voxelmap.

I am not 100% but I don't think you can hide your icon from others. However, others can turn their player icons off and not see you.
 
haha, this makes me remember when RichardG was still on forgecraft and made this mod which allows you to see where everyone is on the server, but to be able to keep trolling everyone he added an item like a tin hat which made him "invisible" for people using the mod (so the mod wouldn't show your position to others)
