I started a Let's Play on my channel and about 6 episodes in FTB updated thinking nothing of it i go ahead and let it update. But when i went into the game everything was reset to default. No maps, no nothing even settings reset!

If there is any way to get it back it would be most appreciated!

I don't think there is. Configs are backed up if you check it to do so (They are in your %appdata%) Unless moved.

But world saves are up to the player to backup.

If I think of anything else i will let you know.

Back it up to a different location before updating it. If it all fails you have the back up at least ;)

Another idea is if you just lose your worlds while updating you can copy them over from the backup.

Surely the real issue here is that the launcher sees fit to delete worlds when updating? That's pretty silly. :(

As said though, keeping regular backups of modded worlds is essential if you want to avoid headaches and even a little heartache. I would also strongly recommend keeping your packs in date. Especially in this case - the last versions of the packs were really buggy and it was never really addressed until today's update.
