Its also possible to gain your own head drinking a bottle of mana. Its found as Botania dungeon loot.
Is there a way to chop off my own head ?

Yeah Botania has a recipe in the Runic Alar that requires a nametag of the person u want the head of.
Botania looks awesome, unfortunately I don't have it and wouldn't want to add it now, after 10 months on this map

Not precisely, AFAIK I didn't see it in the Creative menu. Of course, I did add myself to the Celebrity list, so at least that sort of head shows up. Just gotta be lucky while dodging the YogCast crew at the same time.

If you're playing 1.6.4, Player Beacons has a decapitator you equip on your head to kill yourself and get your own head.
Sounds like a fun way to "get some head". If player heads can be used to stabilize infusion altars, that would be better than killing zombies.
LOL, As long as I bury it beneath the altar that'd be fine. I'm creeped out seeing my player head just posted on the wall of my base. Its eerie to me seeing the giants in the Twilight Forest that use your player skin.
IMO the ones I see are bloody handsome.
Good reason to just be Steve. No attachment. Of course, I never play online, so nobody ever sees me other than me on the very rare occasion I hit F5 (and that's usually just to see some new armor I've never seen before that completely covers me up.)
I never play online, but the Steve avatar looks so derpy that I can't stand it. I usually edit the steve png to my player skin anyways so I don't need Internet access to still use my skin.
That's a hell of a lot of hate you must have for it, to go to that much effort.
