I suppose with quite a lot of effort and calculations, you could use creepers to get your perfectly flat area - good luck with that! Failing that, dynamite. Who needs mods?

Although I don't think that there are many options that are non-technological in nature, as least not to the scale of the Filler.

Redstone in Motion? I dunno if it does the whole block breaker thing, but its got frames and frame motors like RedPower, so you could probably build an auto-flattening thingy with those and a little work.

Ah no. The author has... issues with FTB and mod packs in general I think. This will not be a valid option.


You could try vein miner. Depending on how the configs are set you can break a block, I think 4 above the block you are standing on is the default, and It'll usually flatten the aria well enough.
