Is there a method for mining multiple blocks at a distance with Silk Touch?

...because that would be the ultimate mining method. There are tools to mine multiple blocks with Silk Touch, but they won't work at a distance. There are spells to mine multiple blocks at a distance, but not with Silk Touch.

I don't know of any method that combines those features? Is there one? Also, to be clear about this, this is about a tool/spell/etc for manual mining.

Not what I meant. You still need to stand near enough to a vein block to hit it with a regular tool. Thaumcraft wands and certain AM2 spells let me actually mine at a distance, like blocks in high ceilings and such, the AM2 spell does it with up to a 7x7 area. I'm looking for something like that, only with Silk Touch.

The application is not so much ore mining but for things like GeoStrata rock I'm encountering while carving out large rooms as part of a construction project. Most of my tools have Silk Touch, only the spells don't, which means I always have two different versions of rock and stone in my inventory. With so many different types of rock that becomes annoying.

Last I checked, it was not possible. When trying to put it on the focus via Infusion Enchantment, nothing happens. For the Arcane Bore, the Silk Touch needs to be on the pickaxe. Also, as far as I'm aware of the focus can't mine several blocks at once.[DOUBLEPOST=1404463767][/DOUBLEPOST]

If I recall this correctly, you will not be able to put an item into the Arcane bore if there is another item with an incompatible enchantment already in it. I won't be able to check this any time soon, since I used up my Arcane Bore in the creation of the Awakened Ichorium pickaxe and don't feel like creating a second one.

The wand of equivalent exchange, thaumcraft. Just exchange the vein with torches.

If you want to run bloodmagic, why not put silk touch on a bound pick, and then "beast mode" it?

You guys are all misunderstanding how one uses Silk Touch and a Arcane Bore; you need the pick to have silk touch.

That said, RotaryCraft has a very cool system not used in many mods; some of it's machines can be enchanted with enchanted books, for instance, the boring machine with silk touch, mining vast paths with silk touch, or the tree cutter (sic) with Infinity, making it not use a sapling while it plants them just fine, then cuts down the tree you planted.

In the new 1.2 version of Ars Magica 2, "Feather Touch" is a Spell Component which, when added to a dig spell, modifies it so that it has the Silk Touch effect. (Additionally, the "Prosperity" modifier is for Fortune / Looting)
