Is there a machine that can replace a large area of a certain block with another ?

Something like a terraformer ? My base is in a Canyon Biome so there's ugly Hardened Dirt everywhere. They're also very weak and my pickaxe destroys 4 of them in 1/4 of a second (undesirable). Anyways, I would like to replace a big chunk of the Hardened Dirt with, preferably, Dirt.

TC wands with Focus of Equal Trade.

Agreed rhn. And, if you get the tree enchantment table thing and upgrade the focus like 3 times you can equal trade a huge area.

enderquarry is probably the best for what you're asking but honestly... scott has it right, I think moving is the best option

No, no, no, I don't want to move, the view is great ! I chose the location from the start of the game. I'm so high up that the Promised Land portal generates EXACTLY at my level. I just don't really like the blocks

I'd go with the resonant exchanger. It can quickly change a ton of blocks. I'd consider it the easiest solution if I were in your shoes.

Or set up a gas turbine in a sandy biome then push cows into it.

Instant glass.
Unless that interaction specifically needs cows for some weird reason, I am surprised to see that you didn't suggest to throw villagers into it.

I recommend the Digital Miner from Mekanism. You can tell it to mine a defined block and replace the mined block with a block of your choice in a 32-block radius in any depth interval of your choice. You have to supply the replacement blocks though, and it's slow even if fully upgraded and uses up quite a bit of power. I see you have a really big turbine though, that should take care of any power needs.

Edit:
Ah, I see this already occurred to some. This works, the only problem is that the interface of the miner may be a little misleading if you're using a texture pack because it has changed recently. Now the replacement block goes into the filter config into an extra slot right of the filter block id which may not be visible, but works nonetheless. The global replacement slot on the main config page doesn't work anymore.
