Lets say that I lived in a desert biome (which nobody on the minecraft universe live in a desert biome) but I have to go find water. 5 minutes later, I found a big ocean. I set up my pump, put redstone engines, and connect the waterproof pipe to my liquid tesseract, and set my frequency. I put my gate down next to the the pump and my first slot is "Tank Empty" and my second slot "Redstone Signal." What this does that if my tank is empty, the gate will activate my redstone engines by signal and the redstone engine takes out the water and send to the tesseract but my home is far away. Is the gate still gonna activate my pump and send it to the tesseract or no.

If you placed the gate next to a pump and "tank empty" came up as an option, then the pump must have a small internal reservoir. I believe that's what tindin is referring to. Assuming that the pump empties its reservoir into the tesseract whenever it can (in other words, whenever the tesseract is able to add liquid to the tank back at your base) then this setup should work great as far as I can tell.

But of course, when in doubt, test it. ;)

How are u detecting tank condition over distance if the gate isnt connected to the tank? You are probably detecting it from tesseract internal buffer, also u can run the pump all the time, no need to turning it off , one more option is if u have thermal expansion 2 water sources and aqueous accumulator on your tank and you good to go !

I'm assuming your example with water is purely theoretical since water sources can be made infinite but anyway:

Gates only detect stuff right next to them. So if you would want to do this you'd need to have a gate next to your tank -> wireless redstone transmitter. At the pump you'd need to have a wireless redstone reciever > pump engine.

However, this setup is complex and redundant since pumps will just stop if their connected pipes are full.
