Or is it only available via the infusion enchanting? I'm aware it only works on thaumcraft tools, I just wanted to use regular enchanting because infusion enchanting is ridiculously pricey. I tried 3 tools and get unbreaking, but I'm unsure if this is luck or futility.[DOUBLEPOST=1388494612][/DOUBLEPOST]Additionally - does anyone know if using infusion enchantment with an incompatible stat will overwrite, fail, or just won't start? For instance, might I be able to take my thaumium tools and infusion enchant repair to wipe off the unbreaking?

The only difference between infusion enchanting and vanilla enchanting is that infusion enchanting is more expensive and allows you to choose which enchants to put on an item. To answer your question: yes, you can get Repair with vanilla enchanting (on Thaumium and higher tools), but it would be random if you get it or not.

To the other question: it won't start.

If you want repair via vanilla enchanting, enchant a thaumium hoe (repair\unbreaking are the only possible enchants) disenchant it via the MFR auto disenchanter then use the book in an anvil.

I'm not ashamed to admit I use EnchantingPlus. It removes the RNG of vanilla enchanting.

I enchant all of my Thaumcraft armor, weapons, and tools with Repair II via EnchantingPlus and it works great.

same here, i use a couple borderline op things, but i set rules/goals for myself.

in the case of enchanting, i won't use e+ until i've finished (magic_mod_A)'s research. the RNG makes sense when used by the untrained, but a wizard/mage/alchemist/necromancer of such skill would have control over menial things like "enchantment" hedge magicks.

If you want, you could use the thaumic enchanter from Thaumic tinkerer. Takes out the RNG, isn't that expensive, and gives you all your options. It also requires no levels.
