Is my math right? (Boiler/Liquiduct setup)

I'm working on a compact boiler setup and I'm hoping what I'm trying to do will work. I've got them heating up right now, but figured I'd post here to see if anyone else has tried something like this or if anyone can see a flaw in this setup.

It's got 54 industrial steam engines running off of 3 36HP boilers. Each boiler has 9 unpowered liquiduct connections all feeding into one duct.

Is 9 connections enough to get all the steam per tick out of a 36HP boiler?

Can 3 36HP boilers steam fit into one liquiduct, or will I need to split it into two?

I believe that set-up should run full time for you, you'll find out pretty soon

seems like it's all running just the way I was expecting! :) Now time to start getting the materials to setup 15 of these, and 15 with only two boilers/36 engines. :)

Do you mean setting up 75 boilers in total? Just out of curiosity, what are you planning on doing with that power? :)

I have no clue what I'm going to do with all the power yet, (I probably won't even turn them on until I need them). But I'm buiding a very large skyscraper (111x63 footprint) so I have TONS of space in the basement boiler room. Gotta use it for something :), the 75 boiler setup fits in half of that space, other half will be for coalcoke and maybe something else.[DOUBLEPOST=1378301083][/DOUBLEPOST]It's also on a server, so another idea I had was making a few public energy tesseracts for people to use as well.

each set of 3 boilers will feed into 4-6 tesseracts set on different channels, so that won't be a problem. (except for my personal ones, those tesseracts will be added as needed depending on useage)

I think liquiduct connection unpowered = 80mB/t, so 80*9 = 720 mB/t.

18 industrial steam engines = 40*18 = 720 mB/t.

I thought Liquiducts were "unlimited" and that this 80mB/t limit was from the boiler blocks they are drawing from.

Nope, liquiducts can only draw 80mb/t (or 160mb/t if powered). The liquiduct itself can hold around 3000mb/t a tick I think...it's the input that limits it (like in this setup, I have 27 inputs feeding into one liquiduct line)

The liquid transfer function of liquiducts is similar to EU. You don't have to worry about having 3 liquiduct lines to carry 3 liquiduct outputs.

Take this as an example. Let's say you have a max size iron tank. The bottom has 81 usable blocks, let's say they're valves. Let's also suppose that iron tanks have automatic output and the liquiducts do not require a redstone signal. If you attach a liquiduct to every valve and wanted to give access to that 81-valve output to another location, you need only create a single liquiduct line to wherever you output is.

Though it might be limited to 3000 mB/t, that is still ~37 connections. So in the case above, you may need 2-3 parallel liquiduct lines to transfer the full output of that system. Though, I have never tested this so I can't really say for sure. This is how I understand them to work and how I've used them successfully.

I may be wrong, but iirc since steam is a gas, you should be able to compress it all down into one line of liquiducts.

From what I remember king lemming posting, the amount of liquid that can be carried in a liquiduct is infinite. Only the connections matter (to or from a machine). 9 connections are needed on a max size HP boiler to accept all the steam the boiler produces. You do of course need a liquiduct from the source to the destination, but that is all. The amount of liquid that can be sent through a liquiduct connection is based off the type of liquid. (you can send a lot more steam through a liquiduct than you can lava.)

Well thank you :) Took me a while to get in compressed as much as I could possibly figure out to fit in my basement :)

Of course, the final version won't have all of those energy cells right there, and no diamond chests. (and of course there will be 72 more boilers and 1296 more engines to go along with it :))
