Is mekanism a must have?

Honestly I like Mek armor on mobs because it makes them a proper challenge. Even then, its not really a threat if you understand game mechanics.

and you can spot the glowstone armour ones a mile off i also had a mob farm in my last world with turtles doing the culling, then another crafty turtle would combine any armour in the drop chest by analysing them with openperipherals until they were all repaired... i had a wonderful wardrobe of all the sets waiting for me if ever i needed a spare
