Is "Fuel Rod (Depleted Uranium)" the same as "Near-Depleted Uranium Cell"?

Running FTB MC 1.6.4 and working on my first nuclear reactor.

I can't find any good info about "Fuel Rod (Depleted Uranium)" though all I see is Near-Depleted Uranium Cell on wiki sites. I'm trying to find out what can I use these depleted fuel rods. Does anyone have any info on this?

If I recall correctly, not quite.

One you get when a fuel cell runs out in a reactor, and the other is crafted from the former, and inserted back into the reactor to "charge".

The difference I believe is one is from IC2 and other is from IC2E. In older versions you could put the depleted cells back into Breeder reactors to make them back into usable cells to fuel reactors again. This is no longer the case. The "Fuel Rod (Depleted Uranium)" is simply spend fuel, but there is still some use of it. You can break it down in a Thermal Centrifuge to get some Uranium 238 back as well as a bit of Plutonium. This can be used to create MOX fuel to power even more powerful reactors or create RTG pellets for "infinite solar cell without the need for sunlight" style small scale power.

So in essence you keep a bunch of Uranium reactors running and from their waste you power MOX fuel reactors.
