Hello, My name is Kane Hart. I been running Minecraft servers I guess coming onto 4 years now. I been running Modded Minecraft servers for... Hell some of you might know but I assume at least 2 years now. Since then I been making my own packs through MCUpdater.
Now I considered hosting my Pack here and even did the massive permission sheet. I handed the pack in and about 10 days later it was hosted. At that point on my own server I went through I think 10 updates and that consisted of at least 40-50 Changes. If it was minor config changes to full out major updates to mods etc. Because of this the appeal to use FTB Launcher was lost on me.
So the question is has the FTB processes become any better? Is there any kind of whitelist or self updating method available? I know from some Internal stuff at Curse there is going be some great stuff in the future but at the time being does it still take at least 1 week to update a major dupe bug, crash flaw, etc?
I will say this. FTB Launcher is worth one major thing. That is building up a new or even bigger community. Most people now don't even want to use MCUpdater. They say why no FTB and leave.. Even though my packs usually are more stable, more features, and I spend weeks preparing them and usually over 100+ hours per pack testing, They don't seem to care all they see is no FTB run away!
Any tips or advice or suggestions is much appreciated.
